The following points were agreed at the last
meeting of the General Committee on durging:-
(1). Sanitary Board to supply Kaifong with apparatus
and material for catching rats.
(2). The Kaifong to induce people to use them and in
every way to destroy rats.
(3). The Sanitary Board to place receptacles con-
-taining a fluid disinfectant in every street where required,
for reception of dead rats.
(4). Rats from these receptacles to he collected as
often as possible by Sanitary Board so as not to become a
nuisance.
(5). If the Sanitary Board find that a large mumber of
rats from any given locality are plague infected, they will
communicate with the General Committee and Kaifong through the
Registrar-General, arranging with them for a general cleansing
of that locality.
(6). This cleansing should be of the same nature and
conducted in the same manner as the ordinary general cleansing
1.e. an Officer of the Board to be present for the purpose of
general supervision, the work of cleansing to be carried out
to his satisfaction.
(7). The Kaifong are willing to distribute any
disinfectants, soft soap &c., placed at their disposal for
that purpose by the Sanitary Board.
